Identifying Potential Beneficiaries
The Ministry of Labour & Employment maintains the National Database of Unorganized Workers (NDUW) on the e-Shram portal. This database is linked to the National Classification of Occupations (NCO). It’s primarily used to identify potential beneficiaries who fall into the categories covered under PM Vishwakarma. Artisans and craftspeople from these families are encouraged to register under the scheme.
Online Application Process

Required Information for Enrollment
To register, beneficiaries need to provide documents like Aadhaar, mobile numbers, bank details, and ration cards. In the absence of a ration card, they must provide the Aadhaar numbers of all family members.
No Enrollment Fee
Enrollment under PM Vishwakarma is free. The government covers the costs associated with the registration process.
Steps for Registration
The registration process involves applying through Common Service Centres (CSCs) or an online application via the Aadhaar-based PM Vishwakarma portal. This portal connects with various government platforms, including Skill India Digital. A multilingual helpline ensures information is accessible to everyone.
- Beneficiaries can apply directly or with the help of CSCs through Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) or Enumerators.
- CSCs offer support to identify their requirements and benefits under the scheme. They also inform beneficiaries about the Skill Upgradation component.
- Beneficiaries without a bank account will be assisted in opening one by CSCs.
- Aadhaar-seeded bank account details are necessary for availing monetary benefits.
- Aadhaar authentication is required at every stage, using biometrics.
- The portal also links to the Udyam Assist Portal for registration of informal micro-enterprises without PAN. Those with PAN can register on the Udyam Registration Portal for MSMEs.
- Beneficiaries are encouraged to onboard on the GeM Portal for market access.
- A three-step verification process, with Aadhaar authentication, leads to PM Vishwakarma registration.
Aadhaar-Based Registration
All PM Vishwakarma registrations are Aadhaar-based and require biometric authentication. Beneficiaries will be notified about incentives through SMS.
