PM JANMAN Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan. The Union Cabinet, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has given its nod to the This initiative, with a total outlay of Rs.24,104 crore (Central Share: Rs.15,336 crore and State Share: Rs.8,768 crore), is set to address 11 pivotal interventions across 9 line Ministries. The Prime Minister unveiled this campaign on Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas in Khunti.
PM JANMAN encompassing both Central Sector and Centrally Sponsored Schemes, will focus on 11 critical interventions across 9 Ministries, including the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. These interventions cover areas such as providing pucca houses, connecting roads, water supply, mobile medical units, hostels, vocational education, Anganwadi centers, multipurpose centers, electrification, solar off-grid systems, solar lighting, setting up VDVKs, and installing mobile towers.
In line with the 2023-24 Budget Speech, a Pradhan Mantri PVTG of Development Mission will be launched to uplift the socio-economic conditions of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). This mission aims to provide essential facilities like secure housing, clean drinking water, sanitation, improved education and healthcare access, road and telecom connectivity, and sustainable livelihood opportunities. An allocation of Rs.15,000 crore is earmarked for the next three years under the Development Action Plan for the Scheduled Tribes (DAPST).
With a Scheduled Tribe population of 10.45 crore as per the 2011 census, 75 communities in 18 States and the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands are identified as Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs). These groups persistently face vulnerabilities in social, economic, and educational domains.

Additionally, the mission PM JANMAN includes interventions from other Ministries:
- The Ministry of Ayush will establish Ayush Wellness Centres and extend Ayush facilities to PVTG habitations through Mobile Medical Units.
- The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will facilitate skill and vocational training in PVTG habitations, multipurpose centers, and hostels based on the specific skills of these communities.
